Don’t be coy Roy!
So there I was I was, getting into ‘the zone’ with the original Stay Safe Stay Crafty typographic design.
I had experimented with many different treatments but decided to keep the same typeface. Some treatments lent themselves better to the typeface forms. But something just wasn’t clicking. They were ok, but not ‘wow’ brilliant!
Then something happened. A portal opened in my mind and I saw the text written in Kanji text.
10 mins later after rummaging around on an external hard drive —4Tb G-Drive if you’re wondering—that is home to 20 years of scans of found elements and half-finished personal projects. I found the fish! An unfinished vector illustration based on an old piece of packaging (picked up in India if my mind serves me right) The attraction was instantaneous. The love was perfect. Et voila. This is the finished article.
