I just did a pro bono logo project.
For a club of semi-retired Lillois. The name is a play on words. ‘Celi’, short for célibataire- that’s singles to you and me! And ‘Battants’ meaning fighters (against being single). Quite funny really.
I hope it speaks for itself. I don’t need to explain it to you design-savvy readers. Save to say that the use of a nice sedate serif font for the wordmark softens the modernity somewhat. A nod to the past with an eye to the future. Hopefully.
The trouble is. French senior citizens really dont have an appreciation for great design. The jury is out…
