Wilhelm Deffke made this logo for the German company J.A. Henckels in the early 20th century.

I’m going to write something about him in a future post. Save to say at this moment that he was a vastly underrated designer.

(This is essentially a test-post via iPhone from my hospital bed. Nice to know that a no longer supported theme running on an ancient WP install can be maintained this way. It’s a bit painful going through a browser on a tiny screen but at least it works. And seeing as I have some substantial downtime while the shattered bones heal, it could be really useful)
